About Marlene
Over 20 years of People and Privacy work, brought to the organizations that need it most.
I founded LANEiQ Consulting because I've seen firsthand what happens when people practices and privacy obligations aren't working together — and I've spent over 20 years learning how to fix it. That experience was built within major energy companies, navigating complex HR challenges, enterprise-level data governance, and evolving Canadian privacy legislation, including PIPEDA, FOIP, and PIPA.
LANEiQ brings that depth to small and mid-sized organizations and non-profits that need it, without the commitment of a full-time hire.

My Approach
I believe clarity and empathy can transform the way people work together. Every engagement is guided by purpose and grounded in respect, authenticity, and partnership, because real change happens when people feel heard and connected.
I don't believe in overcomplicating solutions. Real change comes from understanding what matters most and taking meaningful, realistic steps forward. My work is practical, embedded, and scalable, and I work the way your organization actually needs.
LANEiQ Consulting Land Acknowledgement
LANEiQ Consulting recognizes that much of its work takes place on Treaty 6 Territory, the traditional lands of the Cree, Dene, Blackfoot, Saulteaux, and Nakota Sioux peoples, and the homeland of the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 4.
I honour the enduring presence, knowledge, and stewardship of Indigenous peoples who have cared for this land since time immemorial, and who continue to shape its future.
When my work extends beyond Treaty 6, I acknowledge and give thanks for the traditional territories of the Indigenous peoples of those regions. I approach each engagement with gratitude, respect, and a commitment to reconciliation in action.
This acknowledgement is not a formality. It reflects the heart of my practice: listening deeply, building relationships rooted in respect, and helping organizations create cultures where people and purpose thrive together.
